Dear vdxp, the members of the National Radio and Television Board were deputed by the political parties of the Parliament, so they make their decisions by political interests. The rules can be easily trespassed by them because of the out-of-date law on broadcasting, and in the political situation of today's Hungary they aren't shy to take the advantage of this. But these were the rules also in 1997, when Sláger and Danubius won their frequencies, why didn't anybody protested against it in the past?
So, nothing new with this, Hungary is not a media banana republic, just a banana republic. All the people are waiting the change from Fidesz, Jobbik, or MSZP, they want the political parties to solve their problems, but they don't want to do anything for it, so they let themselves to be affected by their emotions. They just want the Kádár-era to come back, when the state provided them job, home, cheap food, free education and healthcare, and they didn't need to do anything for it. And while they are angry to the politicians, they're cheating with the taxes, benefits, etc. ...
I love my country very much, but there are serious problems with the people's sense of democracy.
